The last day in NYC. All good things must come to an end I suppose. We only had so many hours left to do whatever we could fit in to the trip. I only did three things this day after packing up my things for the plane.

First Tia, Carolyn, and I attempted to see the FIT museum and their historical fashion exhibit, but apparently it was not open to the public until noon. We had arrived an about two hours early. I had the idea of seeing the Alexander McQueen Flagship store located in the Meatpacking District. We took a quick trip on the subway to go see what was there. It was pretty incredible to say the least. I really wish we could have taken pictures but we were not allowed. THOUGH sneaky ninja quick Carolyn got me this one photo of this display which just happens to show one of my favorite garments: a real Italian leather jacket with an interesting cut hem, many zippers, and stylish buckles priced at $43,000. The shop was pretty amazing. Of course this shop was only for the elite and rich. It was kind of awkward for us to just walk in and take a look around. Im sure the sales people took one look at us and wondered what the hell we were doing. I thought any moment they were going to kick us out for wasting their time. We were lucky to have stayed there for more than a minute. The store had many incredible garments, shoes, accessories, and displays of the most recent McQueen work right off the runway. There were custom colored snake skin coats, elegant royal colored dresses, many golden and silver finished accessories, crazy looking shoes and heels, and amazing displays of the run way collections. I was lucky enough to try on an awesome ring that had spikes on top of a skull covered in diamonds. It fit me like a glove and I ALMOST bought it for $345. I was SO CLOSE. Then I remembered that I was going to move out right after this trip. . . One of these days I’ll go back there and get something for myself!

Next was the FIT museum finally. It was nice to see another clothing exhibit before leaving New York. I enjoyed taking more pictures and walking around taking our time seeing everything. This was a small exhibit but I didn’t mind. I was pretty overwhelmed at the MET and this place was a very good size to just explore and look up close at the pieces. Poor Tia and Carolyn kept setting off the alarms. When you stepped too close to the pieces a noise would sound off and one of the guards will demand you to step away from the display. I loved seeing these. I thought one of the most interesting pieces was seeing the Alexander McQueen display. It was dated 2009, a year before he took his own life. Another piece I really liked was the Moscow, Berlin, Seoul, Sydney, and London pieces. I was very glad to have stopped by before leaving.

For lunch we went to the cutest Bubble Tea shop! It was the best bubble tea I have ever had before. The flavor I got was a chocolate raspberry cookie, of some sort. The sushi was good as well. This was also was surprisingly the cheapest meal I have had the whole trip costing me $12 for both the drink and sushi. It was a relaxing way to end the trip.
I was sad to leave, but happy at the same time. I had learned so much, seen what the industry has to offer in one of the largest fashion capitals in the world. I really enjoyed meeting the people, the city, the shops, the culture, the exhibits, and the cities little surprises. It was a trip worthwhile. Maybe one day I will end up working there in the Garment District. East Village seemed like the kind of area I would love to be in. Being busy all the time always doing something all the time was invigorating for me. Not to mention all the walking and being active was great. Well New York, I hope to see you soon enough
